Claim Process

YPA Public Adjusters is here to help businesses and individuals with their property damage insurance claims. We inspect, estimate, and negotiate with the insurance company to make sure that the claim is handled properly so that you can get your business back up and running.

Don’t rely on your insurance company to establish the claim and present an offer – you need the help of a qualified licensed public adjuster.  This is the process that usually occurs:

  • Establish loss to the business
  • Complete a claim
  • Insurance company inspects and estimates the loss
  • The insurance company will then make an offer
  • Hire a public adjuster to dispute insurance company’s claim and properly estimate the loss
  • On-site meeting with public adjuster
  • Review documentation of the claim from the insurance company and public adjuster
  • Discussions with the insurance company concerning the documentation from both parties
  • Negotiate
  • The new settlement of a claim
  • Collection of any supplemental payments as construction progresses
  • Close claim once fully satisfied

A public adjuster is your ally, someone that works on your behalf. They will negotiate with the insurance company until there is a settlement.

The following is a general flow of how the claim would progress if you consult with and hire a qualified licensed public adjuster to handle the claim:

  1. Loss to home or business has occurred
  2. Claim was filed with insurance company
  3. Hiring a Caribbean public adjuster
  4. Conduct on-site meetings and complete the following:
  5. Documentation of the claim (from the insurance company and public adjuster)
  6. Discussions with the insurance company concerning the documentation from both parties
  7. Negotiations
  8. Settlement of claim
  9. Collection of any supplemental payments as construction progresses
  10. Close claim once fully satisfied

It is too overwhelming to do this yourself and there may be more damage that you are unaware of.
